On January 2nd.1905 the Malay College officially opened her door to the first batch of sons of the Sultans and Lords of the Peninuslar Malaya. It was then called the Malay Residential School. The main purpose of the setup was to provide education for the future administrators of the British Colonial Government. Life went on then in a tatchet roofed wooden building and unshaven plank walls, until one fine day the Yam Tuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan came and decided to sanction the building of a proper more permanent structure that was to be The Malay College and this remain so until today. The glory of the school we all called home for the major part of our secondary school days was seen in the majestic sturctures of the Prep School and the Big School. The grandeur of it all is topped up with the famed Big Tree where the past and current leaders of the nation sit to rest their mind in the mid afternoon and early evenings.
